OCUREV
Ophthalmic vaccine for active immunization of sheep and goats against brucellosis caused by Brucella melitensis.
Manufactured according to World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) and European Union standards, Ocurev is the first conjunctival brucellosis vaccine for the REV-1 strain in sheep and goats to be developed and marketed.
Administering Ocurev to sheep and goats between 3 and 6 months old induces a short-term serological response that prevents interference with conventional serological tests used in eradication programs, like Rose Bengal, so there are no false negatives.
The manufacturer of Ocurev, CZ Vaccines, has over 30 years of experience manufacturing brucellosis vaccines, with a wide range of vaccines for different strains.
01
Vaccination with Ocurev notably reduces the symptoms of brucellosis in sheep and goats.
02
By decreasing the Brucella melitensis shed, it decreases contamination of the environment and the spread of the disease to other livestock.
03
The administration route minimizes the serological response and, therefore, false negatives.
04
Avoiding false positives decreases the financial losses from culling healthy animals.
05
Thanks to the cell-mediated immune response, the main defense mechanism against brucellosis.
06
The shelf life of Ocurev is up to 24 months and it can be transported and kept at up to 37°C for 7 days.
07
It can be used in young and adult animals.
08
The highly precise dropper dosing makes it easy to administer with just one drop on the cornea.
09
As the vaccine is stained with patented V Blue, it is easy to properly administer to the conjunctiva.
