Live attenuated vaccine administered subcutaneously to fight brucellosis caused by Brucella abortus in cattle.
Does not interfere with brucellosis diagnostic testing
The RB-51 strain doesn’t induce antibodies that cause a reaction on conventional brucellosis serological tests, such as the Rose Bengal test, making it possible to distinguish between vaccinated and infected animals.
The manufacturer of RB-51 CZV, CZ Vaccines, is one of the only companies authorized to use the original RB-51 strain by Vettek and the University of Virgina, the inventors of the vaccine and brand owners.
Producing the vaccine from the original master strain according to the inventors’ instructions ensures its stability, robustness, viability and efficacy. The vaccine has a unique stabilizer that is not in the copies manufactured by other companies, which ensures a long shelf life and highly uniform doses.
